The SSC Stenographer 2023 examination is designed with two distinct stages. - The question paper will consist of Objective Type Multiple Choice questions, available in both Hindi and English except for Part III.

Candidates who achieve the prescribed qualifying marks will proceed to the Skill Test. The Commission may also set qualifying marks for each section of the Examination. The Skill Test is for qualification purposes, and the Commission will determine the standards for different categories of candidates.
During the Skill Test, candidates will be given a 10-minute dictation in English/Hindi at a speed of 100 words per minute (w.p.m) for Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and 80 w.p.m. for Stenographer Grade ‘D’. The transcription will be done on a computer, and the specified timeframes are as follows:

The Skill Test will be held at the Commission’s Regional/Sub Regional Offices or at other designated Centre(s) as decided by the Commission.
